Education has played an important role in my journey in Canada. After arriving in Canada in 2018, I knew that learning and personal growth would help me build a better future. Seneca Polytechnic became an important part of that journey and provided me with opportunities to develop new skills, gain knowledge, and prepare for my career.

When I first arrived in Canada, I did not speak English. I started by taking ESL (English as a Second Language) classes to strengthen my language skills. Learning English was challenging, but it gave me the confidence to continue my education. After completing ESL studies, I enrolled in the General Academic Purposes program at Seneca Polytechnic. This program helped me strengthen my academic reading, writing, and communication skills.

After completing general academic purposes, I entered the public administration program. Through this program, I learned about municipal government, public policy, ethics, finance, and public sector management. The courses helped me understand how local governments serve communities and how public services are delivered. I also developed important skills such as teamwork, research, critical thinking, and professional communication.

One of the highlights of my public administration studies was my internship with the Town of Newmarket in the Finance Department. This experience allowed me to apply what I learned in the classroom to a real workplace environment. I gained valuable knowledge about municipal finance and learned how local government departments operate. After completing public administration, I decided to continue learning by enrolling in the Public Relations – Corporate Communications program at Seneca Polytechnic. I am currently studying media relations, strategic communications, digital media, and content creation. This program has helped me strengthen my communication skills and understand how organizations build relationships with the public. It has also introduced me to blogging, social media management, and communication planning.

My time at Seneca has taught me that learning never stops. Every course, project, and experience has helped me become more confident and prepared for future opportunities. The challenges I faced while learning English and adapting to a new education system have made my achievements even more meaningful.

Today, I am proud of how much I have learned and grown. Seneca Polytechnic has provided me with the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to continue building my career in Canada. I look forward to applying what I have learned in both public administration and public relations as I continue my professional journey.
